Philosophy

The primary objective of the club is to promote the sport of cricket and provide a medium for all cricket fans in the area to play cricket at different levels based on their individual expertise. The club also aims to provide ample opportunities as well as coaching to every member who wishes to take the game to the next level. The club gives priority to the team and expects each and every member to uphold the team’s motto and philosophy.

Captaincy and the club: It all begins at the top –

The captain is the primary representative of the club for a given game (friendly or competitive). The role of the captain is to maintain order and discipline within the team and ensure that all rules and regulations are being met before, during and after the game. The captain is also responsible for the conduct and behavior of his team members and is expected to organize and arrange for all game related activities with the help of his team. The captain and the club have the right to deny any team player the opportunity to play if that member is found to be disruptive, insubordinate or unruly on or off the field before, during or after a game.

Team: It’s we not me –

The term ‘team’ refers to the entire club and not just the playing eleven. All members of the club are expected to cooperate and collaborate with the captain and the club to ensure that the standards, rules and regulations for any game or league are maintained. All members who have restrictions and constraints for playing games can participate in other club related activities and contribute to the team.

Umpires: Can’t live with them, can’t live without them -

All members of the club are required to uphold the umpire’s decision on the field. The club doesn’t permit any member to use foul language, intimidation, assault or any other behavior expressing dissent or discontent with the umpire’s decision. Members that violate this rule are likely to loose their membership along with their chances of getting referrals to other clubs.

The Blacklist: You are safe as long as….. :

You maintain punctuality during games.

You abide by the captain and the club’s decisions during the game.

You don’t engage in any verbal, physical altercations with any team member or individuals in the opposing team or members of the audience.

You respect the facilities and equipment provided by the club.

You respect the facilities and equipment provided by other clubs during away games.

After all, it’s just a game:

The main idea behind all this is to have fun.
